Proposed additional storey to property and combined rear extension works within a conservation area

The client exchanged on the property which had real character, with big plans to transform the property into a showcase, outstanding building and something that would be the family's future home for many years. The intention was to build on what we originally had in terms of the external footprint and create the additional space by going 'upwards' and 'outwards' to the rear.

The proposal uses a lot of well thought materials and detailed finishes to create a very impressive structure. The front elevation along the street scene in the conservation area adopted a design that followed on the from the existing and enhanced with unique glazing and cladding features. To the rear a more contemporary theme was followed. But as with the front, materials and texture have been used with a large amount of glazing to make the internal spaces open and light.
